The journey of the statues…
From the get go we thought it was really important for us that we tried to reach as many people as possible with put her forward and we travelled across England several times as part of gathering nominations and unveiling the statues.
Between May to July 2018, alongside our online campaign, we travelled to 16 different places in England to gather nominations through workshops and live gatherings on the streets.
On the Heritage Open Day weekends of 6th-9th and 13th-16th September 2018 we travelled over 2,400 miles to unveil 25 new statues of women across England in places that were pertinent to each of the women involved.
Since September 2018 we keep the map updated as to where the statues are available for the public to see. Please check individual sites’ opening times to find out
